Beneath the sorrow of a fallen capital, a new song hums—not of grief, but of creation. The Knight discovers a hidden sanctuary of master crafters, but to earn their trust, a warrior must become a healer of machines.

📖 The Story

Drawn by a rhythmic pulse beneath the City of Tears, the Knight discovers a secret door sealed by a "Soul-lock". Using the soul lute, they gain entry to a breathtaking, hidden city bathed in the blue-white light of soul-powered forges. This is the home of the Artisans, a reclusive society of Hallownest's greatest builders.

🤝 Trust Forged in Soul: The Artisans, led by the stern elder Kaelen, are wary of outsiders. Only the Knight's mysterious lute, recognized as a masterwork, grants them passage. While the others remain suspicious, a young artisan named Elara watches with curiosity.

❤️‍🩹 Mending a Broken Heart: The city is thrown into crisis when its Soul-powered heart—a great central bellows—sputters and dies. When the master smiths fail to restart it, Elara suggests the Knight might be able to listen to what is wrong. Placing the lute against the inert machine, the Knight plays a gentle harmony of Hallownest's songs, mending the machine's chaotic energy and bringing it back to life.

✨ A New Dawn: Having saved the city not with a nail but with a melody, the Knight earns the artisans' reverence. Kaelen, filled with newfound respect, asks the Knight to teach them to listen, offering in return to teach them how to build. Together, they may yet forge a new dawn for Hallownest.
